Samsill Adopts Bio-Based Materials — OPI Coverage

Fort Worth, TX — 2016

Samsill Corporation was recognized by OPI (Office Products International) for its adoption of bio-based materials in its Earth’s Choice ring binder line. The coverage highlighted Samsill’s transition to USDA Certified Biobased materials, combining 100% post-consumer recycled chipboard with polypropylene cover material containing 25% Green Polyethylene derived from sugarcane ethanol.

The move positioned Samsill as one of the first major binder manufacturers to achieve USDA Certified Biobased Product status, a distinction relevant to both consumer sustainability goals and federal procurement requirements under the BioPreferred program.

Samsill manufactures its binders in Fort Worth, Texas, and remains the only mass manufacturer of ring binders in the United States.
