Samsill Corporation, one of the world’s largest independently owned manufacturers of ring binders, celebrated Earth Day by extending its sustainability efforts and planting trees in partnership with American Forests. In the second year of the partnership, Samsill donated over $11,000 to plant more than 11,000 trees through American Forests’ Global ReLeaf program.
“Samsill is pleased to make a difference in helping to restore forests across the country,” said Bob Schultz, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing. “We share a passion with American Forests in providing innovative solutions to environmental issues. Samsill looks forward to continuing its support of American Forests as well as growing our line of sustainable products to help protect our planet.”
Samsill’s Earth’s Choice biodegradable binders were the first traditional sealed plastic binders formulated to degrade in 1-5 years versus the hundreds of years it takes normal plastic binders. Samsill also expanded its sustainable product line with the Raw Binder, made of durable 100% recycled chipboard with a removable ring making it 100% recyclable.
Samsill also created an “Environmental Responsibility” team to investigate opportunities and implement programs across power conservation, recycling, product innovation, and supplier requirements.
