Plant-Based Ring Binders
Made in the USA
At Samsill, we know a thing or two about ring binders. In fact, we’ve been manufacturing them right here in Fort Worth, Texas since 1953. So why mess with perfection? Believe it or not, even a product as straightforward as a binder can inspire innovation; that’s where our plant-based binders come in.

What Sets Earth’s Choice™ Binders Apart
Our plant-based binders are simply a better binder for tomorrow’s future. Our Earth’s Choice™ collection of binders are identical to other plastic binders on the market that are made from fossil fuels, BUT ours are made up of 25% Brazilian sugarcane. Plant-based plastic, known as bioplastic, can be made from a variety of organic materials. We chose sugarcane because it offers several unique benefits:
• It does not infringe on a food crop like corn or potatoes
• It captures CO2 from the atmosphere
• Sugarcane can be grown year after year
• It does not require the destruction of delicate ecosystems
• The byproducts from the production process can be used to generate renewable power and fertilize crops
The cherry on top is our chipboards, which are made from 100% recycled material. The result is a binder that is USDA Certified 59% biobased material.
And that’s something you can feel good about.
Each Earth’s Choice™ binder is guaranteed to contain at least 59% biobased material.
The boards used to give our ring binders structure and durability are made using 100% recycled material.
We’re proud to manufacture our ring binders in Fort Worth, Texas.
The polypropylene covering on our plant-based binders is partially made from Brazillian sugarcane.
Every ton of sugarcane captures 3.09 tons of CO2 from the atmostphere. Since 2019, we’ve used over 24 tons of sugarcane-based plastic.
