Celebrating Biobased Products
March 8 marks National Biobased Products Day, first recognized in 2023 to raise awareness of businesses that provide biobased products. Sustainable purchasing decisions can make a real impact in the fight against climate change — this day exists to educate consumers on the importance of sustainable development in the marketplace and how biobased products help reduce the negative impacts of plastic production.
At Samsill, we’re committed to using bioplastic and recycled materials to help lead the way toward a more sustainable future. We’re proud to be the only mass manufacturer of plant-based binders in the USA.
Our Earth’s Choice™ plant-based binders are made from bioplastic — a material that’s chemically identical to regular plastic made from fossil fuels, but derived from Brazilian sugarcane and plant starch. By combining recycled chipboard with bioplastic made from a renewable source, we produce a more eco-friendly binder. Here’s how plant-based plastic is made:

Our Earth’s Choice™ binders are USDA Certified Biobased products and come in a variety of colors. Making the switch to a more sustainable option benefits the planet, one product at a time. Benefits of choosing plant-based binders include:
- Energy conservation
- Reduced greenhouse gas emissions
- Conservation of natural resources

Take part in National Biobased Products Day by supporting eco-minded businesses and considering biobased alternatives — every biobased product brings us closer to a more sustainable future.
