Last week, Samsill President Drew Bowers headed to Washington, D.C.  to take part as a discussion panelist in Production of Sustainable Biomaterials and Consumer Products Promoted by Policy Strategies at AFCC. In 2010, Samsill launched the first plant-based binder. Today we continue our steps toward sustainability and ecofriendly products.

The focus of the AFCC is to advocate for public policies that promote the development and production of alternative fuels, renewable chemicals, biobased products, and sustainable aviation fuels.

The Alternative Fuels & Chemicals Coalition is a joint effort that is guided by industry participants. The AFCC draws on existing government affairs expertise to support federal agencies and programs that are important to the alternative fuels and renewable chemicals, biobased products, and sustainable aviation fuels industries. It also monitors and speaks out about pending legislation in Congress.

The coalition’s purpose is to make sure that issues of importance to the coalition are not forgotten and receive the attention they deserve. This is done through continuous research and outreach, policy statements, conferences and cooperation with other industry groups to fill gaps and rally support for key issues.

Samsill’s participation in this conference helps our company better understand the sustainability landscape and take responsible steps in the right direction as we produce our products.
